QUICKFIRE
PRE-DREADNOUGHT ERA FAST-PLAY RULES



Quickfire Scenario: Yellow Sea++

Location – Coast of China, south of Port Arthur. August 10, 1904.

Background – The Russian Fleet is making a run for Vladovostok, with the full compliment of pre-war capital ships for both sides available. This will give the Japanese a slight edge in numbers but the Russians will have a slight edge in receiving extra crew benefits.

Fleet Commander - Admiral Makharov
Battle Division 1: Petropavlosk, Tsesarevitch, Retvizan.
Battle Division 2: Sevastopol, Peresviet, Pobieda, Poltava.
Cruiser Division 1: Pallada, Diana, Askold, Novik.
Destroyer Division 3: Three Destroyers
Destroyer Division 4: Two Destroyers
Destroyer Division 7: Four Destroyers
Beginning Japanese Order of Battle
Fleet Commander - Admiral Togo
Battleship Division 1: Mikasa, Shikishima, Hatsuse, Asahi, Yashima, Fuji.
Cruiser Division 1: Kasuga, Nisshin
Destroyer Division 1: Four destroyers

Scenario rules – No special rules.

Setup – Russian Battle Divisions 1 and 2 begin the game in line ahead on the west side of the board on an east-southeast heading. Russian Cruiser Division 1 begins the game five cables north of the Battle Divisions on same heading. Russian destroyers setup with one nautical mile of their cruisers as desired.
Japanese Battleship Division 1 begins game on east side of board on a westerly heading. Japanese Cruiser Division 1 begins game one nautical mile south of Battleship Division 1 on same heading.
Closest setup proximity: 3 Nautical Miles


Reinforcement Die Rolls (1D6)
Balance of Japanese Cruiser Division 1: Yakumo, Asama and Destroyer Division 2 (Three destroyers). Roll once at the start of turn 9 and each turn thereafter. On any die roll of 6 or greater the division arrives on southeast edge of board during the movement phase.
Japanese Cruiser Division 3: Kasagi, Chitose, Takasago and Destroyer Divisions 4 and 5 (Three destroyers each). Roll once at the start of turn 15 and each turn thereafter. On any die roll of 6 or greater the division arrives on southeast edge of board during the movement phase.
Japanese Cruiser Division 6: Itsukushima, Chin Yen, Matsushima, Hashidate and Destroyer Division 7 (Four destroyers). Roll once at the start of turn 20 and each turn thereafter. On any die roll of 6 or greater the division arrives on southeast edge of board during the movement phase.
